COSECSA Women in Surgery Africa (WiSA) is pleased to announce the Faith Muchemwa Legacy Grant 2025. This grant honors the memory of Dr. Faith Muchemwa by supporting women in surgery through recognition and opportunity.
Grant Description
The grant is awarded to the female surgeon who proposes the best theme for the annual WiSA event. The bursary, valued at USD 1,000, is intended to contribute to the recipient’s travel costs to attend the WiSA Annual Event.
This year’s theme should reflect the celebration of 10 years of WiSA.
Requirements

Must be a WiSA member and a COSECSA MCS/FCS trainee.

Must not have received this grant before.

Submit the best theme, selected by a vote of WiSA members.

Proposed theme should not duplicate past winning themes.

In case of a tie, a re-vote will be held within one week.

The selected winner must attend the WiSA AGM event and present a short message on the inspiration behind the theme.
