COSECSA Women in Surgery Africa (WiSA) is pleased to announce the Shield Maiden Award 2025, generously sponsored by Dr. Agneta Odera.
This prestigious award celebrates an outstanding female surgeon who has overcome challenges to achieve her career, inspires others, and empowers women in surgery and training. The award also recognizes women who serve as agents of change within their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

Female surgeon from the host country of the 2025 COSECSA AGM/Scientific Conference

Demonstrates leadership and mentorship for other women in surgery

Willing to serve as the WiSA Goodwill Ambassador in her country in the following year
